Gilberdyke under 7's v Holme Rovers under 7's

Last week saw Holme start very slowly and were always chasing the game but this week from the very first minute the team was really switched on and gave a great performance and matched Gilberdyke in all areas. In the first quarter our very own Clayton '' bossed'' the game and considering he has only just joined the squad is already a great asset. He was well supported by Theo in goal. I am glad to say our defenders on the day Milo, Tyler, Thomas,Nathan and Henry put in some great tackles and now are starting to keep their positions and so minimise the number of shots on goal. The forwards as in Jake, Harrison and Jamie put in a lot of work to create opportunities on goal and were not scared to work back and put some tackles in, so much so that Jake was warned by the referee about one of his hefty tackles he put in. The outstanding moment of the match was by Jamie who took a free kick close to the by-line and with the outside of his foot bent the ball into the top corner of the net but the man of the match award went to Henry who won every tackle he went in for. Lastly again it was good to see Luke Watts supporting his team mates as it was his turn to sit out this game. This Saturday sees the team play at home to Goole and there might be another game straight after against Holme under 8's blacks.
