Training Mini Soccer

Richard Brook | 26/09/2017

After this Thursdays training session, training will move to Saturday mornings only starting on the 30th of September. It will be split into two sessions i.e.
under 6's start 9.30am -10.20am
under 5's start 10.30am- 11.20am
To represent the under 6's the player must be born on or between the 01/09/11 and the 31/08/12 and for under 5's 01/09/12 and the 31/08/13. Players must have suitable footwear, shinpads and a drink [not fizzy]. Training will take place up to the 25th of November and restart on the first Saturday in February. Any help would be much appreciated on a Saturday morning. I will be responsible for all training for this year. In February though I will only take the under 6's so the club will be looking for someone to take on the under 5's. If no one comes forward then the under 5's will cease to train. I would hope that someone would come forward as they would get great support from myself and the rest of the football club. If anyone has any questions please ask anyone connected with the Junior Section on a Saturday morning.

Race Night

Richard Brook | 12/03/2017

Great night last night, plenty of money raised with everyone having a good time. Thought the ''chanting'' was brilliant. Thanks to Angela, Avril, Karen and Rachael in having to stop sober so as to help out with the money side of things. Again thanks to all for making it a great event

Just a thanks to all those who attended on Friday night and to those who donated prizes. A fantastic sum of £600 was raised which will help towards our running costs but more importantly it shows organisations like the ERCFA that when we ask them for £10,000's of pounds that we as a club are doing ''our bit'' to raise money. Must mention Avril who organised the event and Derek for been a well organised host especially in view of the numbers who turned up to this event.

Driffield Town 1 v Holme Rovers 2nds 2

Richard Brook | 20/02/2017

Only arrived at half time and Holme were 2 nil up but according to Jonny Foster had not played well. This continued in the second half with Driffield scoring an early goal to put pressure on Holme. To their credit Holme dug deep and managed to keep them out. The pitch was not suited for Holmes passing game as the surface was atrocious with the ball bobbling about all over the place. Credit to Tom Clarke who put a ''shift'' in and got the m.o.m. award. With no other games in this league this was a great 3 points for Holme. As it stands Holme are one point behind the second place team but with 3 games in hand and 2 points behind the leaders with 2 games in hand , so they still have control of their destiny in this league. Great to see so many first teamers there supporting. Nothing is easy in winning a league and 4 out of Holmes next 5 games are away starting at Malt Shovel Hawthorne this Saturday. Good luck. As to the 1st team their game was cancelled and this Saturday they go to play Bridlington SC County who are on a bit of a role as in their last 3 games they have beat Orchard, North Cave and drew with league leaders North Ferriby so it should be a hard game, again good luck. Just a reminder to all about bingo this Friday in Social Club.
