Resignations

Richard Brook | 18/10/2016

As some of you will already be aware our committee has had three of its members resign over the past two days they been Alison Dunham, Gemma Wallace and Craig Bone. I would personally like to thank the three of them for their contribution in making the Junior section what it is today. These few words hardly seem enough for what they have helped the club achieve but they know my thoughts on everything that they have been party to in their time within Holme Rovers.

North Ferriby United Academy 1 Holme Rovers 1sts 6

Richard Brook | 11/10/2016

Holme once again lined up with five players in midfield but this time had a back four with Nick Cage up front. Ferriby lined up with 4, 4, 2 formation. The five young players in midfield totally dominated the game with Ferribys young team having no answers. Nick Cage was supplied with great service and true to his current form bagged five goals in the first half hour, game over. In the second half Ferriby lined up with five in midfield but the damage had already been done. Holme kept the game tight and did not give Ferriby a chance of a comeback. Cameron Laird who gave a strong ''disciplined'' performance was rewarded by scoring the only goal of the second half with a delightful chip over the keeper. After winning their opening four games other teams will surly be taking notice. Holme move to their new home this weekend when they entertain Leven at Longcroft School.

Holme Rovers Seniors

Our 2nd team did not have a game today but our 1st team were at Hutton Cranswick in the Senior Country Cup who had won their previous game 13-2 so Holme new it was going to be a hard game. The first 20 minutes was very physical and ''verbal'' with the referee at times struggling to control the game especially when Josh Brook was lucky not to have his leg broken with an over the top tackle with the ball nowhere in sight. Once the game settled down Holme got into their passing mode and there was only going to be one winner. Nick Cage yet again had his shooting boots on and bagged a hat trick [another £3 from his mum] and the other goal was an o.g. The man of the match went to Jonny Dowson not necessarily for his skills but his 100% effort!

Holme Rovers Juniors

A big thanks to all none players who helped out yesterday morning enabling our club to have 6 games at home. It reminded me of when we held our first tournament earlier in the year. The game I refereed was the under 9's and they did ''very well''!!! With some great football been played and some great goals. The other games I watched later was of similar quality and the future looks good for our football club. Also what was pleasing at the end was a couple of new faces help take down the goals and roping. Any assistance on a Saturday morning by anyone is much appreciated. Our under 14's were playing away and it was great to hear that they were only narrowly beaten losing by the odd goal. Well done to all players who represented our club yesterday. Lastly we now have got all the signing forms in and with the mini soccer section the club has now over 100 junior players on its books. Truly remarkable how quickly the club has grown over the last couple of years. When will it stop?
